About us

TRUMPINGTON RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

Trumpington Rhythmic Gymnastics was established in 2017 by Claire Bourdin.

The club fully registered with British Gymnastics and all sessions are ran by fully qualified coaches, all of whom are all DBS checked.

The aim is to introduce rhythmic gymnastics to the children of the local community from 5 years old, and to give each gymnast the opportunity to enjoy the sport and reach their full potential whether at a recreational or competitive level.

Gymnasts in our club must be registered with British Gymnastics.

RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

Rhythmic Gymnastics is an olympic sport combining the beauty and gracefulness of ballet and dance, the strength of gymnastics, the control of handheld apparatus such as rope, ball, clubs, hoop and ribbon, while performing a floor routine in music.
Rhythmic gymnastics can be performed individually or as part of a group.

Claire

UKCC Level 2 Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach

Claire started rhythmic gymnastics at 8 years old after few years of ballet. She performed at a competitive level both as individual and a duet / group gymnast until she reached 18. Her favourite apparatus was and still is the hoop. She started helping her coach with the younger gymnasts of her club in France when she was 15.

She moved to Glasgow and then Cardiff to complete her studies, but carried on coaching rhythmic gymnastics in various local clubs. She then settled in Cambridgeshire where she introduced rhythmic gymnastics to gymnasts in Huntingdon before opening Trumpington RG to share her passion of rhythmic gymnastics to the children of the local communities.
